Schumer's Upper East Side childhood in NYC was upended when her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and the Schumer's small but successful business folded under the pressure.

Her family relocated to Long Island after declaring bankruptcy and soon after, her parents separated.
In an Instagram post on Monday evening, Schumer posted a short video of her younger self, playing in a corn field on her family farm would later lose.
Video from the farm when I was running away in the cornfield and my dad was taunting me because I wanted him to come with me. We lost the farm when we lost everything else. But today I got to buy it back for him.
Schumer announced that she had just re-purchased the family's farm for her dad.
She also posted a screenshot from a video call with her father Gordon, as she told him the news.
Today I bought my father's farm back.
Well, if that just isn't the most adorable use of one's Hollywood cash, we don't know what is.
